There is something special about celebrating a good wedding, especially when the wedding is your daughter! Looking back at the incredible weekend, I'm all aglow with delight today. Saturday was a perfect day; in my six decades, there have only been about two handfuls of "perfect" days. I'm thankful for the nuptials of Olivia Tomoff to Robert (Bo) Hudson as one of those perfect days to linger over in my thoughts for a very long time to come.
The intimate ceremony with family and each moment afterward made us feel closer to the bridal couple as the day wore on. Family photos, a small dinner reception for a baker's dozen, and admiring the flawless execution of the entire day with nary a blip left me gobsmacked, if not a bit teary-eyed from time to time.
I want to give a shout-out to Liz Verrecchia, Olivia's best friend, who helped organize the flowers and other special arrangements to create a personalized event to O & Bo's liking. Susan Birckhead, Catering Director at Willow Oaks Country Club, worked spectacularly with the wedding couple on the space and set-up needs before, during, and after the day's events. And, of course, the rest of our families, Bill and Ryan, plus the Hudsons - Bob, Ann, Bo's sister Anna and her husband Bobby, and 10-month-old daughter, Margo, along with Liz and her husband Stevens and their 16-month-old son, Reid.
The last lovely surprise was the Sunday brunch at The Jefferson Hotel arranged by Bo and his Mom, Ann. It was lovely! I highly recommend going if ever in the Richmond, Virginia, area. It is rumored that the description and portrayal of the staircase in Scarlett O'Hara's Atlanta mansion were inspired by the grand staircase in The Jefferson.
Thank you for all the well wishes sent to Olivia and Bo and the Tomoff and Hudson families. Our hearts are full of love for the happy couple.
