Jodie Smith is the Winner of the 2024 Christmas Row-by-Row Quilt to benefit the Childhood Cancer Charity JustTryanIt! JTI's mission is to provide financial assistance to families with children in treatment for pediatric cancer. Collectively, we helped that mission with a total of $1500 raised over the past week.
I cannot thank you all enough! A Christmas Miracle for sure.
A HUGE SHOUT of THANK YOU to all who donated to this worthy cause to #helpingothers. When I called Jodie to let her know she was the winner this evening, she said it would "match" the other quilt I made for her and her husband, Scot, years ago. On April 1, 2021, their beautiful home on Kelleys Island, Ohio, burned down in 30 minutes (maybe less). They LOST EVERYTHING, except the few quilts I had made and his computer (Scot, an Island volunteer Firefighter, donned his firefighting clothes to run in and grabbed those few things). Thankfully, they rebuilt. It's feeling like home again (almost the same footprint as the original house), and this new quilt has the potential to create even more coziness in the coming month. Jodie was thrilled at the good news of her winning name on the Wheel of Names!
I have a good feeling that together, we will be helping families face financial challenges this holiday season. My heart is full! I'm already thinking of some patterns to try for next year's 2025Christmas Raffle Quilt. Please stay tuned...
bSoleille!
