I am proud to celebrate and be in the company of excellent women writers and announce another book from Akimbo Writing in Community Women - The Badass Sisterhood - Roots & Wings Vo. 2, released yesterday on Amazon.
The two lead women, Laurie Riedman and Susan Walter, did the heavy lifting of getting a baker's dozen women to write and submit their stories for the second volume.
Here are the WIC’ers I wrote with almost daily, dating back to 2020:
Laurie Riedman*
Susan Walter
Amber Field*
Ellen Newman
Jackie Alcalde Marr
Maggie Croushore
Katherine Cartwright
Wendy Coad*
Terri Tomoff*
All stories are heartfelt and wonderful - written beautifully by accomplished women in many fields of interest (*several of the above women have also been published individually).
From Amazon (Laurie/Susan):
Badass Sisterhood: Roots and Wings is a collection of writing from 13 women who explore what it means to be grounded and free, tethered and untethered, finding ourselves between staying and going.
This collection of personal essays and poetry was inspired by the opposite concepts of roots and wings—the places that anchor us and the journeys that set us free. This anthology explores the intricate interplay of home and travel, capturing the duality of belonging and wandering.
As the world narrowed during the pandemic, our imaginations were fueled by this online community of women writers – a sisterhood – where we found solace and strength in each other.
My contribution is a travel story from Ethiopia in 2018 (I don't want to spoil what I've written).
Badass Sisterhood Link- I hope you will consider purchasing one at $11.00).
Cheers!
Terri
