Meeting Sam Teague is a real treat! He's friendly and kind and has a mean backhand in pickleball. He is my hero, playing this amazing game at 84 years young. I want to be like Sam, playing pickleball when I'm 84! Who wouldn't?
We met at The Putaway in Severna Park, Maryland, about a month ago (for my birthday last month, hubby Bill got me a year's membership). While watching Sam and playing with him, I noticed his hand-eye coordination is superb. He can get to just about everything on the court, which, frankly, is quite impressive. We've played a few matches together, and he always has a fun anecdote to share while walking off the court.
I also loved when he shared that he worked in tile, marble, and stone for years under Alpine Contracting in Annapolis, Maryland (his company). I'm sure his work is impeccable, and many homes and backyards are graced with his beautiful style in and around the Annapolis area.
The twinkle in Sam's eye makes me think he has many more stories to share - with me and many others. He did happen to mention he knew Spiro Agnew...just saying.
Cheers to many more pickleball games with Sam!
bSoleille!
