Day 5 of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

My audiobook continues with Ch. 4 - the Calm Before the Storm—radiation for a two-year-old baby boy. No one should have to face that decision. We did it, though, by putting on our game faces every weekday for three weeks, even Ryan in the only way he knew how to—by watching his Mommy's every move. It was not easy for me, or Bill, to keep it all together and not cry, but we did our best to remain stoic until the last beams of radiation left his body and made Ryan sterile.
