Easter 2025

When I think about this sacred holiday, I think, "Hope Springs Eternal." The budding of all the flora and fauna around me makes me happy to be alive and take in all the beauty unfolding each day.

But what is the meaning of Easter?

For over 2,000 years, Easter has been an important and oldest festival of the Christian Church. It marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and for many Christians, Easter is a celebration of the triumph of life over death. Celebrating is usually held between March 21 and April 25 (Western Church), on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the northern spring equinox. With all the rain lately, the flowers are in full bloom, fancy as they are swaying in the wind, which also includes "weeds." I wince whenever I see a bunch of deep-rooted dandelions taking over large swaths of grass. I guess they are all a part of the Earth, so I'll appreciate their yellow flowers and live with them no matter where they are growing or growing out of (see below). Dandelion soup, anyone? Ah, no, thank you.

I hope your celebration of this important holiday with family and friends brings you peace and happiness.

Tip-toeing through the tulips (neighbors—they are fantastic!) and a dandelion coming through a marked parking spot (you can tell it's deep-rooted!).
