Fires to Snow Storms

The news this second week of January is troubling with the wildfires in California, and the cold and snow gripping the nation in over 20 states. Plus, in the mix of the worst weather in California, President Carter dies and lays in state at the US Capitol - though streets and sidewalks have been cleared to accommodate the mourners paying their respects.

My heart breaks for thousands of people in Southern California who have lost everything, just like it did in August of 2023 when Maui faced a similar crisis. Losing one’s home is brutally devastating, perhaps even difficult to overcome with resilience and rebuilding in the coming years. Prayers sent to all!

Watching the devastation is unbelievable! It shakes the soul for me.

While thinking about this today as I glanced through my patio doors, my yellow rose bush held the sun at just the right angle to sprinkle hope with its bright light on the leaves still clinging to the vine (stems). I cut it down at the end on fall, yet it still grew and had one bloom left of the year. Hmmm. 🤔

Today was a cray juxtaposition of headline news.

I’m hoping for a gentler tomorrow.

bSoleille,

Terri
