Sometimes, I stutter, literally and figuratively. Words eventually come out with some pausing and thinking when I talk, though not so much "stuttering" when writing my blog or other writing projects (I do a lot of backspacing/deleting and retyping, etc/even deleting entire paragraphs).
When we write and post on blogs, newsletters, and social media, we put our thoughts “on the shelf.” It's there for all the taking. Sometimes, what we write is not absorbed immediately, but like fine wine, it improves with age. Whether or not we get notified right away that people are reading our stuff, not at all, or all the time, it is a crapshoot.
People are fickle
People are busy
People lurk and never comment
And, there is nothing wrong with any of those things.
However, every once in a while, we can be surprised by a thoughtful response or comment on getting the word out. It happened to me a week ago.
QuiltsFromTheHeart.blogpost.com was a blog I wrote for 10 years and 3000 posts. Many of you may remember it. I started it because my brother-in-law, Don (Hubby Bill's twin), threw down the gauntlet to try it at the end of 2011. I took the bait!
In 2022, I started my Manufacturing Sunshine blog here in this space.
An anonymous person wrote a response/comment on a post I wrote in June 2020 about a high school classmate. I wrote about several of my classmates from James Ford Rhodes HS, Cleveland, Ohio, since it was our 40th reunion year. All events were canceled, of course, because of the pandemic, but I could always write. With permission, I had the chance to share good stuff about the JFR graduates from our class of 1980.
The moral of the story is that we never know who we will touch with our writings or postings, so keep on writing and posting - especially on the various platforms that you are comfortable with sharing.
Here is the fun surprise:

Jeff and Norma were AMAZING scholars, leaders and good vibes people. I am a former AP student, Rhodes Ramette, Yearbook Editor and student who rode the yellow school bus for 4 years to our beloved Rhodes. Jeff and Norma made my HS memories treasured - THANK YOU!!
To clarify, the Unknown person knew Jeff and Norma, as Sue is Norma's sister. They were a class or two behind us.
Honestly, I was thrilled to be alerted that someone had read a post written almost (5) years ago. We never know who we will touch - that's the beauty!
bSoleille!
