Here's hoping everyone had a safe New Year's Eve celebration! After playing two hours of Pickleball until 7:00 pm, I got on the sofa - all cozy under quilts and crocheted blankets and watched a movie (actually, the two-hour Call the Midwife Christmas Special) and then Ryan Seacrest's Rockin' Eve until the ball dropped in Times Square. It was the perfect night while my guys watched football on the other TV.
Disco, the granddog, was at the center of attention until his "baby brother, Bodie," was born nine months ago. Her sweet lab disposition is tolerant and loving to anything Bodie does to her (i.e., pulls on her fur) or around her. Bodie is so fast in his army crawl that one day this week, he got to Disco's kibble within seconds of hitting her bowl, yet Disco took it all in stride and never challenged the breach on her food.
But today is Disco Day as she turns three years old. She has filled out to her adult weight of 65-66 lbs. I think she still is quite "puppyish," but not as nearly rambunctious as when she was a lot younger. All dogs cross that point, and she certainly has. We were told she got extra hugs and cuddles, a long day at the dog park, and probably (not told) many throws of the tennis ball in the backyard. For her, the Ball is Life.
Celebrating Happy Birthdays to all born on New Year's Day and Disco (and her big litter of brothers and sisters)!
bSoleille!
