It's National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!

Did you know today is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day? Hubby Bill alerted me this morning, and I couldn’t let it go once I learned about this special day.

I thought about making a batch of them, but the day turned out to be too hot to fuss with a hot oven. Instead, I motored down to Aldi to buy store-bought CCCs that are, in fact, pretty doggone good!

Of course, they are not the same caliber as homemade ones, but I needed to celebrate the day with a cookie or two, no matter who or how the cookie was eventually made (hey, I walked/ran 4 miles and swam a mile!).

In my book, The Focused Fight, I mentioned how essential a chocolate chip cookie is to a cancer kid, a sibling, a parent, or a caregiver. They are simply magical when the chips are down, pun intended. They represent a quick fix of sugar and the power it gives the recipient no matter how tough (or excellent) the day unfolds.

And I quote: “Never underestimate the power of a chocolate chip cookie.” tnt
