Lingering Inspirations

What inspires you? Do you ever encounter Lingering Inspirations? Do you have magic moments you keep in a loop in your head? Do you think about those moments when you are daydreaming or before you fall asleep?

I do.

I'm banking many others do, too.

Lingering inspiration(s) can refer to taking time to be present and reflect on things, such as friendships, family life, or travel (trying to keep it positive as much as possible). Lingering can also mean remaining in a place longer than necessary or continuing to exist even if its strength or importance decreases.

I plan on unpacking more of Lingering Inspirations (LI) in 2025. All the LI I’m reading and absorbing will hopefully inspire me to (finally!) indie publish my second book, Joy Ride Journeys. It's a hairpin turn from my first book, The Focused Fight, and is rising on my priority list. I'd love to have it zoom into your hands or Kindle in 2025!

In the meantime, a few Lingering Inspirations come to mind when I dig deeper about gnawing daytime thoughts that leave a smile on my lips or what I think about until I’m in a rested slumber that leaves me breathless.

  • My Wedding Day

  • The birth of my two children

  • Entering the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi

  • A recent Thank You card received by my son-in-law.

  • Riding across Botswana on a Land Cruiser with HP (Helen G.) in the way back seats, the cook and driver in the cab, and I seated right behind the cab.

  • The last episode of The Americans television show.

  • Singing along with cancer kids at the Mother Teresa Home (now renamed TAPPCO) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

  • When our son Ryan emerged from his 12 hours of tongue surgery.

  • Meeting my grandson for the first time.

All the above have left me breathless.

The sun was super bright that I could not keep my eyes open without sunglasses.
