It's already a week into the new year; can you believe that? Over the last two weeks, I've managed to take it easy over the holidays and watch TV. We never have the TV on during the day (except for EPL soccer games on the weekends), but I 'gave' myself permission to watch three movies, two episodic shows, and a stand-up comedian.
Watching TV is my guilty pleasure. I "should be" reading more and plan to in 2025.
Maybe you've watched some of the following or none:
Carry-On is a pretty good thriller. The entire movie takes place in an airport on Christmas Eve.
It Ends With Us - a book written by Colleen Hoover, now a movie dealing with abuse, domestic violence, and generational trauma. I liked it, but then I read about the brewing lawsuits with the lead actors, which were eerily similar to what the movie portrayed.
The Six Triple Eight - is a true story that was awesome, and I already blogged about how much I loved it.
Black Doves - British Spy Thriller with Kiera Knightly. Spies work for the highest bidder on about anything. It is an interesting concept (not sure there is a real counterpart to something like Black Doves?)
The Pacific - the 10 episodes originally aired on HBO in 2010. Since so many WWII movies are in the European Theaters, this one is based on the accounts of Marines in the Pacific Theater (in and around Japan/islands/Australia). This miniseries follows the intertwined journeys of three U.S. Marines. Despite the vicious and savage nature of combat in most episodes, I LOVED the series. After watching the last episode, I was curious where it was filmed. I learned that it took three months in and around Melbourne, Australia.
Your Friend, Nate Bargatze - Funny guy with no profanities, observational comedy at its best. Only 1 hour long.
With the cold and snow (hopefully, not for long), I love cuddling up on the sofa with a few quilts and the remote to watch fun and entertaining stuff.
My book sits on my lap at the ready! Ha!
