Records are Made to be Broken— Alex Ovechkin Breaks 894 Hockey Goals!

Whether or not you are a sports fan, there is excitement for those who grit, grind, and beat unbelievable records. This record-breaking could include a hotly contested game of tiddlywinks, the 100 M dash in an international meet like the Worlds or Olympic Games, and, of course, NHL goals! Yesterday afternoon, playing against the New York Islanders, Alex Ovechkin passed The Great One Wayne Gretzky’s record of 894 (Ovechkin tied it Friday) with the new record of 895 goals scored. He set the record in the same number of games as Gretsky.
Sports fans worldwide can celebrate and appreciate this unforgiving sport played on the ice. Let's face it: ice hockey is truly no skate in the park. Look at a seasoned hockey player—they have no real front teeth, for starters.
Watching Alexander (nicknames Ovi and others...) and other Washington Capitals players over the last 25 years has been terrific and downright impressive, both in person and on TV.
Congratulations to the GR8 Alexander Ovechkin! I think one of Ovi's biggest fans is our son Ryan. He has been a huge fan for years, too. In fact, due to philanthropic efforts through the Caps Team and the entire Monumental Sports Organization, we’ve had the pleasure of meeting and greeting many players at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, including the great one and other fan favorites (Callie Johannson and Nick Backstrom).
I'm curious about who will win the crown of most NHL goals after Ovechkin retires, perhaps with over 900—even 1000 goals, depending on how long he wants to play or if his body allows (recovers from?) the hits, trips, concussions, broken bones, and more.
bSoleille!
