Selling Raffle Tkts/Sewing/Quilting
It was an ambitious day all suited to my love of quilting. I started this morning by going to the Eternal Quilt Guild with my sewing buddy, Wendy, and selling raffle tickets to the ladies in attendance. My guild, the Southern Comforters of Bowie, Maryland, is raffling off a stunning Baltimore Appliqué quilt made by a former (now deceased) member, June Stephenson. The quilt is called “June’s Blossom’s” and the exquisite quilting was done by Wendy Allen (the same gal I went with today).
We raffle off the quilt at our yearly Bingo event, which will be held next month, March 22, 2025 (details below in photos). The guild’s members typically sell tickets throughout the year (or when the new quilt is completed), and also go to other guilds, fairs and quilt shops to see this magnificent quilt!
Once home, I was all business in trying to finish the two projects I still have left in my queue. They won’t be done until next week for various reasons - waiting for the ordered fabrics and batting and doctoring (surgery and recovery) a vintage quilt by hand-sewing a big chunk of it. I hope all the quilts I am working on will return home soon.
bSoleille!
