The Focused Fight Celebrates its 4th Anniversary with a Video and Blooper!

As mothers, we can never forget the dates we give birth to our babies. The same goes for writers when we give birth to and publish our books. Today, the first official day of Spring, is also TFF's fourth anniversary of being out into the world. I was sweating bullets to finally reach this point in 2021, but I did it anyway. I was elated (and still am).

I'm one lucky gal that the book is still resonating with new people who read it and sometimes let me know. Plus, the new readers are not necessarily in the world of childhood cancer but perhaps have been through life's many other challenges. That is the beauty of the gift to #helpothers.

The drip, drip, drip of steady work got me to that point, along with the Writing in Community folks who cheered me on from every corner of the globe. I’m still beaming about all those fabulous folks (many I still write with daily).

So, today, while waking up in Richmond, Virginia (Hubby Bill and I were down there to babysit grandbaby Bodie for one night), we hit one Little Library near my daughter’s home, not only to celebrate putting one of my books inside the cute wooden little library but also @juliehughes’ book My Road and Becky Robinson’s Reach.

On this meaningful anniversary, I recently heard a publishing consultant emphasize the all-important role of book reviews on Amazon, especially for first-time authors like me (even if the book is out for one year or more). That flipped on a light bulb. Because ...The Focused Fight has 80+ reviews as of today (for which I’m hugely grateful!). I need only twenty more to reach the sweet spot of 100 for the algorithms of the powers that be that can help the book and, in effect, help others who may find our story helpful.
