After receiving an email from Amazon Prime last week that I paid attention to, I opened the offer only because the "ad" had mentioned a free screening of the last episode/series ending (S5Fianle) of Mrs. Maisel. As a big fan of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel series on Prime, I thought if a theater near me were showing this event, I would try to grab a couple of tickets and go.
Thankfully, the Landmark at Annapolis Harbour Center had one of the showings, so I quickly added the info Prime needed, and lo and behold, two tickets were in my inbox in seconds! I invited another big fan, Debbie Hoppe - my bee-mate, and we were all set and looking forward to the Premiere all week.
The film was set to begin at 7:00 pm. Deb and I arrived early enough to check in and grab our "free concessions, do the pre-show trivia, and watch some trailers (in the theater). The two gals that set up the check-in table worked for movies, not necessarily TV series, and deflated the crowd by mentioning that there would be NO free concessions, even though that's what was stated on the tickets. Groans floated through the lobby, but most, if not all, then got in the concession line, yours truly included, to get our own promised bucket of popcorn and a drink.
Our "tickets" also did not guarantee a seat, but arriving early enough did indeed help. We sat exactly where we wanted to - in two of those plushy reclining seats with a tray and cup holders. The theater was filled up, and only two people left due to no further seating. I'd say it was a successful event sans the free concessions...
If anyone is reading my blog today and is a fan of Mrs. Maisel, the season finale will be aired today. I won't give away any secrets about the ending, but it is a must-see for any fan!
