Gratitude and Kindness reigned supreme all year long. I'm blessed to have traveled, spent quality time with my immediate family and new baby grandson, two family weddings, and visited with "old" and new friends. I'm one lucky gal! But, as much as I am thankful for where my family stands today, I'm passionate about families that are facing tremendous medical challenges, especially childhood cancer. We were one of those families for far too many years - spending holidays in the hospital. For the past few years, I have wanted to make a difference in at least one family fighting the good fight with their loved one. Creating a quilt, raffling it off, and donating all the money is how we all can make a mighty difference. Collectively, we can Manufacture Sunshine for at least one, if not a few (newly diagnosed like we were in October of 1996) weary families. #helpothers!
After raffling off 2023's Christmas Quilt last December, the very next weekend, I went on a quilt retreat and created the quilt for 2024. I thought I had the whole thing done then, but when I pulled it out of my pile to longarm quilt it, I realized I did not make a corresponding backing. Just like Build-A-Bear, I went to work in the last couple of weeks to Build-A-Back and quilted it. The backing comprises the reds used in the quilt.
This lovely quilt will look great in any decor—traditional, modern, or something in between. It's got traditional colors, yet it has a modern twist. It measures 55"x 88". The quilting is fabulous—ornaments, trees, ribbon candy, and holiday greetings are stitched into each section (row).
I will use the same format as last year: Venmo me @Terri_Tomoff your desired amount or send me a check (email me for my address at ttomoff@gmail.com). I will put all the chances on the amount donated to the Wheel of Names, the same as last year. That wheel holds almost 1000 names!
